Project Lifecycle from start to finish

This is a basic creative project lifecycle. The process is subject to modifications based on the project/client’s individualized needs.

As a creative project manager, I handle more than just traditional task-based management. I work closely with clients to manage and coordinate creative projects, ensuring we achieve high-quality work efficiently and quickly. Whether it's creating videos, designing logos or websites, or crafting campaigns, I focus on bringing our shared vision to life in every project.

1. Intake, IDEAS, and ConceptS

Creative project management kicks off with a solid foundation. This step involves setting the scope, purpose, and timeline for the project. The aim here is to establish a clear path forward, ensuring everyone understands why the project is being undertaken and how it aligns with our goals.

2. Scope, Budget, and Timeline

All timing is subject to change based on the scope of work. To mitigate that risk, we map out as much as we can in this step.

We dive into the planning phase. This is where we define workflows, allocate resources, identify potential constraints, and set key milestones. It’s all about laying out a detailed roadmap that outlines the project's scope, budget, and timeline, ensuring we’re set up for success.

3. Kick Off

With everything planned out, we officially kick off the project. This phase is about putting our workflow plan into action, coordinating with clients, and setting the stage for the work ahead. It’s an exciting moment when ideas start to take shape.

As the project progresses, we keep a close eye on everything. This involves monitoring progress, staying in constant communication with clients, and making adjustments as needed. It’s crucial to ensure everything stays on track and aligns with the initial vision.

4. Monitor Projects

Throughout the project, regular check-ins and reviews are key. We discuss progress, gather feedback, and make necessary edits and revisions. This step is all about refining the work and ensuring it meets the client’s expectations.

There’s no such thing as getting right the first time. And that’s how it should be when it comes to getting your work done right. Some projects might only need one round of revisions. In my experience, three to five rounds of reviews/revisions are average.

5. Review, Edit, revise, repeat

Finally, we reach the delivery phase. Here, we present the final deliverables to the client and ensure everything meets their needs. We also take this time to evaluate the project as a whole, reflecting on what went well and identifying areas for improvement for future projects.

6. Final Review, Approve

Effective Communication is Key

To keep the creative process flowing smoothly and foster effective collaboration, I establish clear communication channels with all parties involved. This ensures everyone stays informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
